Ceremony Music Ideas | Wedding Instrumentals

Ceremony Music Ideas

One of the biggest struggles of planning a wedding that some couples find is having to pick all the music that is played throughout the day, including the wedding ceremony music. Being DJs, we are always asked what our favorites are when a couple is simply tired of decision making. We keep an ongoing database of some of our favorites and we decided to share these ceremony music ideas with you!

Instrumentals or covers of popular songs are one way to inject your personality in your wedding day. These ceremony music ideas are instrumental/acoustic songs that can be used during your ceremony or for background music during dinner. Covers can be done on a piano, violin/strings, or even an acoustic guitar. An example is this violin cover of Bruno Mars “Marry Me” found on YouTube:

We also have a few other favorites, including this violin cover by the same artist of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”:

He has others that would work perfectly for any ceremony..

Check out a few other artists like The Piano Guys, Vitamin String Quartet, and Boyce Avenue.

You can also choose to hire a string quartet to play your music during the ceremony or for cocktail hour if you would prefer live music over a DJ playing tracks. Most string quartets already have covers worked into their overall playlist to make it easy for you and the song selection process.

Hopefully this helps make your music decision easier as you plan the details of the best day ever!

Wedding Slideshow Video

Wedding Slideshow Video

We LOVE creating a wedding slideshow video for our clients, as a perfect way to showcase the story of your lives merging into one.

Patrick + Alison | Slideshow from A Sound Impression on Vimeo.

A wedding slideshow video can be done in many different ways. Our couples provide us with the images they want to appear, along with any song selections they want included to play behind their photos. Video clips, say of the proposal, dress shopping, and so on may also be included in between the photos, to create something a little more unique. Our couples get the chance to proof their video to make sure every photo looks good and is in the order they want it to appear. The file is then either delivered digitally or on a DVD prior to the wedding day. If A Sound Impression is also providing the DJ services for the reception, our DJs will bring a back of copy of the wedding slideshow video and will be in charge of setting it up and playing it at the appropriate time.

In order to show the wedding slideshow video at the reception, it takes either a set up TV or a projector/screen combo. We have those available to rent if the venue you’ve chosen for your reception doesn’t include one or have it’s own. The other thing to consider is how your guests will hear the sound to your video. Often times, the DJ or band you’ve hired will let you plug into their system to project the sound over the speakers, or the reception venue may have a house speaker system as well.

If you choose the TV route, some couples will place the TV at the entrance of the hall, on continuous rotation so the guests can watch it at their convenience throughout the night. This works better if your hall is uniquely shaped or set up, in a way that is difficult for all guests to watch. This way also allows the reception events to continue without having to block out time for the slideshow to play.

Overall, there are many different ways to piece together a wedding slideshow video. Our services are available at any point during your planning process, and we are happy to assist in any way we can!

Ryan + Hali | Embassy Suites Lincoln Wedding

Another gorgeous Embassy Suites Lincoln Wedding! Ryan + Hali’s day was nothing short of stunning. They were married at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in a gorgeous full mass ceremony. The perfect weather gave them a chance to capture beautiful outdoor photographs. We absolutely love the mix of outdoor greenery photos an brick wall city scape backdrops by Jessica Blex.

Hali + Ryan _ married-923#BF67

We simply love when brides opt for a different look post ceremony, and Hali decided on two hairstyles – down for the ceremony and pinned up for the party. Once arriving at Embassy Suites, guests were greeted by a transformed room with intimate pink uplighting, chiavari chairs, and an elaborate floral design. Next to her lit wedding cake was a selection of cake balls, one of the hottest trends from 2014 weddings.

Ryan and Hali were introduced into the hall, cut their cake, and proceeded to their first dance. One of our DJs kept the dance floor rocking and the night on schedule – it was a party and the guests had a fabulous time!

Michael + Carissa | Omaha Love Story

Michael and Carissa came to us wanting a Love Story video to capture their unique story to have forever, and also to share with their wedding guests. We were moved by the fate that brought them together, as well as the emotion that was a huge part of their tale. Everything from excitement, to laughter, to tears – this love story video has it all. Grab some kleenex, you’ll need it for this one!

Father Daughter Song | Dustin Lynch – Your Daddy’s Boots

New music Tuesdays has always been a favorite of ours — So many decisions involved in planning a fabulous wedding, so by the time it comes to picking reception music, our brides are typically on decision overload. We are always on the lookout for brand new songs that would fit a wedding day perfectly.. and today we got lucky! Dustin Lynch just released a new song that would be the perfect fit for your Father Daughter dance. Watch out.. If you are a Daddy’s girl, this one might just make you tear up…

Girl you look so pretty in your wedding day white
Dancing with another man but that’s alright
The way he’s spinning you around has stopped the whole room
I’m gonna have a hell of a time trying to fill your daddy’s boots

He’s got a heart of gold, right hand like a vice
Same man on Sunday morning as Saturday night
Barbed wire tough and cowboy cool
I’m gonna have a hell of a time trying to fill your daddy’s boots

He was the first to hold your hand, first to dry your tears
We had a man to man and now I’m taking it from here
I made him a promise, girl I promise you
I’ll always do the best that I can do
I’m gonna have a hell of a time trying to fill your daddy’s boots

They say there’s things about him that you see in me
He’s the kind of man I want to be
Got to give the man credit where credit is due
I’m gonna have a hell of a time trying to fill your daddy’s boots

He was the first to hold your hand, first to dry your tears
We had a man to man and now I’m taking it from here
I made him a promise, girl I promise you
I’ll always do the best that I can do
I’m gonna have a hell of a time trying to fill your daddy’s boots

Brides Say It Best | Lincoln Wedding DJ

John + Kristen were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Sheldon Art Museum on the campus of University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which happened to be the first place they met! They had a rockin’ party to follow at the Champions Club where we kept the dance floor packed all night. Thank you for letting us be a part of your big day!

See the beautiful images of the day from Bellus Photo + Film on their blog here.

“The overall experience was positive! [The DJ] did a good job of making necessary announcements and hunting us down for events like cake cutting, toasts, dances, etc. To be honest, we totally forgot when and what we were supposed to be doing, so we were glad that he was up front and friendly about reminding us of these things. The services was handled very professionally and reliably which are very appreciated for an event like this.”

Jordan + Pat | Arizona Wedding Videography

One of the best parts of what we do is traveling to amazing locations and this one certainly was up there for us. The Hyatt Regency at Gainey Ranch was an absolutely stunning backdrop for the sunset ceremony of Pat + Jordan last weekend.

Let me back up to where this story really begins. Jordan and I first met years ago; she is the marketing director for Sartor Hamann jewelers and we had the opportunity to work together many times prior to her engagement/wedding. Naturally, we were thrilled when she decided to take us along to Scottsdale to capture the happiest day of her life, as we LOVE filming for couples and families that we know.

The weather was an unseasonably warm (but perfect) 85 degrees, with a slight breeze – I’m not sure you could have dreamed up a better day. Everything fell perfectly into place throughout the day, ending with a major party thanks to the talented band. It couldn’t have happened without an amazing team of vendors either!

We LOVE when our brides share fabulous reviews with us! In this case, we worked with JD + Marisa on making their reception rockin’, all the way down to a surprise lyrically edited dance song (From “Jessie’s Girl” to “JD’s Girl”) while her and her father busted a move to the choreographed tune. These two were a blast to work with and we are thrilled that your guests had an awesome time!
